How to Monitor Your AI Search Visibility with AISearchHero

We built this because checking AI models manually was driving us insane.

You can't manually check ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude every day for every variation of every query your customers might ask. That's literally hundreds of combinations. We built AISearchHero because we got tired of doing it in spreadsheets. This guide shows you how to use it.

The Problem, Stated Bluntly

Traditional SEO has Google Search Console. You can see exactly which queries you rank for, how often you appear, whether traffic is trending up or down. AI search has nothing like that built in. Zero. You are completely blind.

So what do people do? They open ChatGPT, ask a question, see if their business shows up, and then... close the tab. Maybe they do it again next week. Maybe they forget. Maybe they check one query but miss the 47 other ways customers phrase the same question. That is not monitoring. That is hoping.

I want to be honest about something: we built AISearchHero because we were the people with the spreadsheets. We were manually querying 4 AI models, copying responses into Google Sheets, highlighting business names with conditional formatting, and trying to track changes week over week. It was miserable. So we automated it.

Try this: Open ChatGPT and ask 'What is the best [your service] in [your city]?' Write down who it mentions. Now ask the same question to Perplexity. Different list, right? Now ask Gemini. Another different list. Now imagine doing this for 50 query variations across all of those models. Every week. That is why this tool exists.

Start With the Free Audit (It Takes 2 Minutes)

The free audit gives you a snapshot. One model, 15 prompts. It is enough to tell you if you are visible or invisible, but it is not enough for ongoing monitoring. Think of it as a blood test, not a full physical. Useful? Yes. The whole picture? No.

1.Go to aisearchhero.com/audit

No account needed. No credit card. Just go to the page.

2.Enter your business details

Your business name exactly as it appears on your Google Business Profile — spelling matters

Your primary website URL

Your industry category and city

3.Hit Run Audit and wait about 2 minutes

AISearchHero runs 15 real customer prompts through ChatGPT

It extracts every business mentioned in the responses

It scores your visibility and shows you where you rank against competitors

That is it. Two minutes. You now have a data point you did not have before. Maybe it is encouraging. Maybe it is alarming. Either way, it is information.

If Your Score Is Below 30, Do Not Panic

That is where most businesses start. Most. The score is not about being 'good' or 'bad.' It is your baseline. The number only matters in relation to where you were last month.

Your score is made up of four sub-scores, and this is where the useful information actually lives. The composite number is a summary. The sub-scores are the diagnosis.

  • Appearance Rate — are you showing up at all? This is the percentage of queries that mention your business. Low means AI does not have enough information about you.
  • Position Score — when you do appear, are you first or fifth? Being mentioned is good. Being mentioned first is much better.
  • Consistency Score — do all AI models mention you, or just one? If ChatGPT knows you but Perplexity doesn't, this score tells you.
  • Coverage Score — do you appear for different types of queries? If you only show up for 'best' queries but never for comparison or cost queries, this is where you see that gap.

The composite score tells you the weather. The sub-scores tell you which window is leaking. Always look at the sub-scores.

If your Appearance Rate is your lowest sub-scoreAI models do not know enough about your business. Start with the Bing Places and Google Business Profile guides. You need to exist in more places before AI can recommend you.

If your Position Score is lowestAI knows about you but does not lead with you. Structured data, more reviews, and authoritative content will fix this. You are close — you just need to establish dominance.

If your Consistency Score is lowestYou are visible on some models but not others. Expand your online footprint with backlinks and directory citations. Different AI models pull from different sources.

If your Coverage Score is lowestYou only appear for certain types of queries. Check your Intent Radar. Write content that targets the specific intent types where you are missing.

Your Dashboard, Like I Am Sitting Next to You

Let me walk you through this like I would walk a client through it for the first time.

Click into your Intent Radar. See those red sections? Those are query types where you are not showing up at all. Not 'showing up a little.' Not showing up. Pick the biggest red section. That is your number one priority. Not the orange sections, not the yellow ones. The red ones. Everything else can wait.

Now look at the Competitor Leaderboard. Find the business ranked directly above you. How big is the gap? If it is 5 points, you can close that in a month of focused work. If it is 30 points, you are looking at a longer campaign. Either way, you now know exactly who you are chasing and by how much.

Now check the Intent Gaps section. These are not vague suggestions. These are specific query types where your competitors appear and you do not. Each one is a concrete to-do item. Sort by gap size. The biggest gaps are the biggest opportunities.

Open your dashboard right now. Find your biggest red section on the Intent Radar. Write down which intent type it is. Now go to the content guide and write one page that targets that exact intent type. One page. That is your action item for this week.

The Monthly Thing

OK so here is the part that actually matters, and I am going to keep it short because it is not complicated.

Once a month. That is the cadence. Not every day. Not every week. Once a month, you spend 20 minutes with your dashboard. Here is what you do:

Open the dashboard. Look at your overall score trend. Is it up, flat, or down? Check if any new intent gaps appeared. Look at the competitor leaderboard for anyone who moved. Pick the single weakest thing and go fix it. That is the whole loop.

The businesses that improve fastest are not the ones with the biggest budgets. They are the ones who check their scores monthly and actually do something about what they find. Consistency beats intensity. Twenty minutes a month of focused action beats a frantic two-day sprint every quarter.

Do not try to fix everything at once. One improvement per month. One closed intent gap. One updated content page. One new batch of reviews. Small, consistent actions compound faster than you think.

Last month one of our users noticed their Consistency Score dropped from 65 to 40. They investigated and found their Bing Places listing had been suspended for re-verification. Fixed it in 20 minutes. Without monitoring, they would have been invisible on Bing-powered models for who knows how long. Weeks? Months? They caught it in their monthly check.

What We Do and What We Don't

I want to be straight about this because nothing annoys me more than products that overpromise.

AISearchHero monitors and measures. We run prompts through AI models, extract the results, score your visibility, track it over time, and show you exactly where you are strong and where you are weak. We surface the data that makes your optimization targeted instead of guesswork.

We do not optimize your website for you. We do not write your content. We do not manage your Google Business Profile or build your backlinks. The other five guides in this series cover that work. AISearchHero tells you what to fix. You do the fixing.

If you are just getting startedRun the free audit. It costs nothing and takes 2 minutes. See where you stand. If you want ongoing tracking, Basic at $49/month covers 50 prompts on ChatGPT with full dashboard and competitor analysis. That is enough for most businesses starting out.

If you are in a competitive market like legal, home services, or healthcarePro at $99/month adds Perplexity coverage and 150 prompts. In competitive markets, one AI model is not enough — you need to know if Perplexity is sending customers to your competitor while ChatGPT sends them to you.

If AI visibility is a core part of your business strategyElite at $249/month gives you 500 prompts across all AI models. At that level you have genuine competitive intelligence — not just scores, but the full context of what each model is saying about you and every competitor.

The free audit is a snapshot. Paid monitoring is the movie. Both are useful. But if all you want is to know whether you are visible or invisible right now, the free audit answers that question in 2 minutes.
